Cromwell Golf Club
|
Established in 1903 the Cromwell golf course is located in the center of Cromwell. The 18-hole tournament course is widely considered to be one of the best inland links courses in New Zealand.
Situated along side Lake Dunstan, the course is a layout that will challenge the championship player, while providing plenty of enjoyment for the longer handicapper or social golfer. Firm, undulating fairways are set amongst sand dunes and plantings of marram grass. Although the course is situated further from the sea than any other in New Zealand, it is built on genuine “links” style terrain. This combined with Cromwell’s low rainfall guarantee year round dry underfoot conditions and firm fairways. “Relaxing, enjoyable golf with hidden subtle challenges“, is the way course designer and supporter Greg Turner, former touring professional and now course designer, describes Cromwell Golf Course. Central Otago golf is all about fun in the sun amidst some fabulous scenery. The club welcomes visitors, is open to casual green fee players daily, and group fees by arrangement. |
