Transport to the Races

Call us about transport options to and from the races from Queenstown, Wanaka or Alexandra. We have a special “ticket and ride” special offer….and this doesn’t mean you are riding the favourite in race one!

Catering

Over the years we have worked out which local caterers suit the wants and needs of our Race Day patrons. Whether it is a simple BBQ or delicate gourmet canapés, we can give you the name and number of someone to suit your expectations.

Beverages

The Cromwell Races remains a BYO event however we are now in a position to provide beverages at a great price to your marquees. Please ask us for a price list. Ice can be ordered for direct delievery to your marquee on the day.

“Tinseltown” Christmas Party Marquee

This hugely popular ticketed marquee has been developed so that you and your friends can just turn up and enjoy yourself without having to worry about a thing. The Tinseltown Party Marquee is fully dressed out in Christmas Spirit with yuletide decorations galore. Book in as an individual or as a group of any size. It is located in an absolutely fantastic spot along the finishing straight not far from the birdcage, the winning post and the fashions on the field stage, so it simply the perfect spot!

Your ticket will gain you: admission to the course and the exclusive Tinseltown Marquee, a reserved seat at a table with your friends, a complimentary drink on arrival, a race book, a gourmet BBQ prepared by a locally renowned chef, a club priced cash bar and some light live music in case you feel the need to get up and dance. The marquee will also be hosted by someone who’ll be able to give you and your guests some pointers on the horses as well!

Mini Marquee

Located in the centre of the course, also known as Party Central! Ideal for groups of up to ten people. A private 3x3 tent with ticketing for 10 people included in the price. Also includes: 10 chairs, one large table with fitted black tablecloth, 10 race books, picket fencing and a complimentary bottle of Springfresh water for each guest! Last year, these great little tents sold out, so don’t delay in booking yours, as we only have a limited supply!

Mini Bays

Located down the Wanaka end of the course, facing down the track towards the finish line, close to the children’s entertainment area. These are ideal for 10 people or family groups looking for their own private base on a busy day at the races. Mini Bays are private 3x3 tents and come with 10 chairs, two small round tables with tablecloths, 10 race books with picket fencing to the sides.

Midi Marquee

Located along the on finishing straight. Ideal for 20 to 40 people. A private 6x6 tent with ticketing for 30 people included in the price. Package includes: 20 chairs, 4 tables, 1 trestle table, 20 race books, a giant sunshade and picket fencing to the sides.

Maxi Marquee

Located along on the finishing straight. Ideal for 40 to 60 people. A private 9x6 tent with ticketing for 50 people included in the price. Package also includes: 30 chairs, 6 tables, 2 trestles with tablecloths, 2 giant sunshades, 30 race books and picket fencing to the sides.

Mega Marquee

Located along the finishing straight demand has led to the creation of this new package aimed at the larger business in Central Otago. This is a 12x6 marquee that caters for 50 to 70 people. The package provides you with 70 admission passes and 70 race books. In the tent you will arrive to 40 chairs, 8 round tables with tablecloths, 3 trestle tables, 3 giant sunshades and picket fencing to the sides.
