Experience the challenge of trout fishing

Trout Fishing Services can provide you with top-class guidance and a very wide range of trout fishing opportunities.

Our quarry are the brown trout and rainbow trout in Lake Dunstan and other local lakes, rivers and streams in Central Otago. We know where they are... and we know how to catch them!

Look around you!

New Zealand is unspoilt and beautiful. Our trout fisheries are second to none. Let us take you fishing on Lake Dunstan, a recently formed hydro lake that has gained recognition as an outstanding trout fishery.

Extremely colourful brown trout Experience the challenge of sight fishing for rainbow trout and brown trout with dry fly or nymph, as they cruise amongst submerged aquatic plants. You can stalk the edges, fish from one of our stable pontoon boats, or you may prefer to try float tubing, an experience rarely offered by New Zealand guides.

Casting small artifical lures on ultra light spin fishing tackle is another challenge that big browns and wild rainbows are keen to accept.

What about trying your hand at harling flies around the edges of the aquatic weedbeds? This form of trolling is a fun and productive way to catch Lake Dunstan's trout - we average more than three trout per hour from our boats when using this method and offer clients a money back guarantee ... NO FISH - NO PAY!

Our local streams and rivers also provide exciting trout fishing. And if you're thinking of something a little special, take a day trip with us into the scenic high country of Central Otago, and fish lakes where trout fishing dreams come true.

The rainbows and brownies are large, and amongst the most colourful and beautifully marked trout available to anglers in New Zealand.

Tailored to suit.

Stalking close to the shore You won't forget your trip with Trout Fishing Services. Lake Dunstan fishing is available for two hours or more. And if you're thinking of something a little longer ... how about a week of fishing with a completely different experience and location each day!
