Cromwell compendium being created

Visitors to Cromwell will soon have a comprehensive guide to all that the town and region have to offer.

“We saw the need for a directory of Cromwell tourism businesses and attractions,” says Janeen Wood, Chair of The Cromwell & Districts Promotions Group (CDPG). “This new compendium will give visitors an overall view of where to go, what to do, and what to see in the area. With this book, we hope to entice more people to stay, play, and dine in Cromwell.”

The CDPG has been hard at work compiling this directory which will be distributed to all hotels, motels, and B&Bs in the district. The compendium will feature everything that might be of interest to holidaymakers coming to Cromwell and surrounds – from cellar doors and restaurants to arts and crafts, shopping, fruit stalls, and adventure sport activities.

“This is a great way for us to connect with visitors and present our town in the best possible light,” says Brigitte Tait, Community Relationships Manager, CDPG. The concept has been enthusiastically accepted by the community with many businesses already having signed up to be included in the book. “Of course, we would like the guide to be as complete as possible, so the more businesses we can include, the better,” she says.

Design and production for the book is due to start soon, with everything being done locally. Businesses catering to the tourism industry that are still interested in being included have until Monday, 14 May to get in touch with Brigitte: compendium@oldsite.oldsite.cromwell.org.nz
