About the event
On Labour Weekend, Sunday 26th October 2025, the Cromwell Street Party & Fireworks will once again transform the Cromwell Heritage Precinct into a vibrant hub of music, food, family fun and spectacular entertainment.
From 5pm, the entire precinct will come alive with food trucks, roaming performers and activities for all ages, set against the stunning backdrop of Lake Dunstan and Cromwell’s historic buildings.
The entertainment line-up features the Filipino community showcasing their cultural dancing flair, Desert Roses belly dancers, Latin Soul, line dancing, and more – all guaranteed to get the crowd moving. Rachel Hirabayashi & Emporium’s Exquisite Corpse returns by popular demand with a collaborative art project, while the Circus Space aerial acrobats – a mix of junior and adult performers – will amaze with breathtaking displays throughout the evening.
Families can enjoy a mix of heritage lawn games, bouncy castles, face painting, hula hoop fun, roaming magicians, and the ever-popular fairies with their giant bubbles.
Cromwell & Districts Promotion Group is excited to be teaming up with local Pyro International to deliver a spectacular fireworks display over Lake Dunstan. New for 2025, the fireworks will be launched from a barge directly in front of the precinct, giving everyone a front-row seat to the show.
Headline act Off-Shore will keep the party buzzing with well-known tunes, leading into a twilight aerial show before the grand finale – the 8.45pm fireworks display over Lake Dunstan and the Kawarau River.
This community celebration is proudly supported by the Central Otago District Council via the Cromwell Community Board, Otago Community Trust, Aotearoa Gaming Trust, and corporate sponsors Santana Minerals and Signature Homes Queenstown Lakes & Central Otago, alongside other valued in-kind supporters.
