Cromwell Street Party & Fireworks

The Cromwell Street Party & Fireworks returns in 2026, bringing one of Central Otago’s most anticipated community celebrations back to the Cromwell Heritage Precinct over the Labour Weekend period. This year’s celebration will be extra special as Cromwell welcomes the first riders completing the exciting new Kawarau Gorge Trail.

The first riders will be welcomed at the Heritage Precinct from 3pm, with the main festivities kicking off from 4pm.

Families and friends will once again gather in the heart of the precinct for an evening of live entertainment, vibrant street performances, and a lively atmosphere filled with activity and connection. A fantastic selection of food vendors will be on site, alongside Heritage Precinct retailers, offering plenty to enjoy throughout the night.

As evening falls, the precinct comes alive with music, colour, and entertainment for all ages, creating a welcoming space to relax, explore, and enjoy the festivities together.

The night builds to a spectacular finale as fireworks light up the sky above Lake Dunstan, reflecting across the water for a memorable closing moment.

Delivered by the Cromwell & Districts Promotion Group, this much-loved event continues to celebrate what makes Cromwell special; community, creativity, and connection. Entry is free helping keep this community celebration accessible to everyone.
