Nearby parking will be available at The Gate for a gold coin donation. Please note that the large parking area at the Big Fruit Reserve will be closed for the event.

Light Up Winter will go ahead except in the case of extreme weather conditions. If it's too wet to release the lanterns, the release will shift to Sunday evening. Updates will be posted on Facebook and Instagram.

We have a dedicated team that follows the lanterns upon release to collect as many as possible on the night. They return in the morning to collect any that might have been missed. Although we aim to retrieve all lanterns, we know that a few might be missed. This is why our lanterns are 100% biodegradable and contain no wire.

For the benefit of our tamariki, we ask that you don't smoke within the event area.

Lantern tickets are available to buy online Our lanterns are flame resistant, environmentally friendly, and contain no wires that may be dangerous to wildlife. Please note that we will not allow any other lanterns to be released.

Light Up Winter is a family event and we would like everyone to be safe and happy. There will be mulled wine on sale to help drive away the chill.

To minimise our environmental impact, there will be collectable Light Up Winter cups available for purchase at our mulled wine stall.
