A Taste of Cromwell

Recharge and unwind with a weekend away in Cromwell.

Day 1 Start your day right with a breakfast and cup of coffee at Grain & Seed Café. After breakfast, take a leisurely stroll through the Cromwell Heritage Precinct for a glimpse into Cromwell's past. The buildings in the Precinct were lovingly restored, and are now a "living museum" housing art galleries, boutique shops, cafés, and historic exhibitions. Day 2 After a lazy first day, it's time to kick it up a gear! Grab a hearty breakfast at Forage Café, hire an e-bike, arrange your pickup via Trail Transfer and get pedalling. Head down to the lake and hop on the Lake Dunstan Cycling and Walking Trail heading towards Clyde. As you reach Cairnmuir Creek, stop at Coffee Afloat and Burger Afloat for a delicious floating lunch on the trail. Your cycle journey ends in charming Clyde where you can spend the rest of the afternoon exploring the historic town before heading back to dinner at the Stoaker Room. Day 3 Speed or sluicings? You get to decide how to spend your last day in Cromwell. If you're looking for an adrenaline rush after your breakfast at Nichol's Café, head out to Highlands for an extreme morning. If you're looking for a more relaxing end to your visit, take a walk around the Bannockburn Sluicings for some fascinating insights into our early gold mining history.
