Mark your calendars! On Labour Weekend, Sunday 26th October 2025, the Cromwell Street Party & Fireworks returns to the Cromwell Heritage Precinct, promising a night of colour, music and community spirit.
“It’s a true street party – a chance for us all to come together, welcome visitors and showcase the unique character and stunning setting of Cromwell and districts,” says Anthea Lawrence, CDPG Events Coordinator.

Local MoreFM host Joel Palmer returns as MC to launch the festivities from 5pm, as the entire Heritage Precinct transforms into a vibrant hub of food trucks, live entertainment, and family fun — all set against the stunning backdrop of Lake Dunstan and Cromwell’s historic charm.
Musical and dance performances throughout the precinct, including the Filipino community to show off cultural flair, Desert Roses belly dancers, Latin Soul, and line dancing, are sure to get the crowd moving on the dance floor.

Back by popular demand, the team at Rachel Hirabayashi & Emporium’s Exquisite Corpse game invites everyone to take part in a fun, collaborative art project. The Circus Space aerial acrobats, featuring a mix of junior and adult performers, will also dazzle attendees throughout the evening.
For the young (and young at heart), there will be traditional family games on the lawn by the jetty, bouncy castle fun, face painting, roaming magicians, hula hoop fun, and the return of the fairies with their giant bubbles.

New for 2025, CDPG is thrilled to team up with the local Pyro International team, who will deliver a dazzling fireworks display over Lake Dunstan, with fireworks launched from a lake barge directly in front of the Heritage Precinct, giving everyone front-row seats for the spectacular finale.
On-stage, local act Offshore, will keep the crowd moving with some well-known tunes, leading into a twilight aerial show before the grand finale – the 8.45pm fireworks display over Lake Dunstan and the Kawarau River.
CDPG Chair Caitlin Dykes says the event is made possible thanks to the support of funders and sponsors:
“We are grateful for the generous funding from the Central Otago District Council via the Cromwell Community Board, Otago Community Trust, and Aotearoa Gaming Trust, along with proud corporate sponsors Santana Minerals Ltd and Signature Homes Central Otago, and the many in-kind supporters who help bring this event to life.”
