Minister Peeni Henare to launch Community-Led Development Programme in Cromwell and Districts

The Minister for Community and Voluntary Sector, Peeni Henare, is travelling to Cromwell this Sunday (April 14) for The Greenway Festival in Cromwell. Hon Henare, who is a Minister in the Department of Internal Affairs, will officially launch Connect Cromwell’s five-year partnership with the Department’s Development Programme. The partnership agreement will benefit the community of the Cromwell District. MP for Waitaki Jacqui Dean and Central Otago Mayor Tim Cadogan will also speak at the launch event. More than 60 local school students will perform kapa haka and waiata during the opening which will commence at 12 midday. Entertainment, games, and a huge variety of activities led by community groups, plus free food and drinks, will continue through to 4 pm to make the day a true celebration of community. The public and community groups are advised that the event will go ahead whatever the weather. So be ready to grab your wet weather gear as well as a sun hat!
